Justice is the path to restoring trust in institutions
Prime Minister Milojko Spajić honored the memory of Duško Jovanović, the editor-in-chief of DAN, by lighting a candle at the site where Jovanović was murdered 20 years ago.
Today marks two decades since the assassination of Duško Jovanović, a man who refused to remain silent in the face of injustice and refused to compromise with falsehoods, Prime Minister Spajić posted on X.
The Prime Minister emphasised that strengthening the rule of law is a fundamental principle of his administration and that achieving justice in this and similar cases is the right path to restoring public trust in state institutions.
We await responses from all state bodies responsible for identifying and bringing to justice all those directly involved in this crime, its mastermind, and all those who have so far maliciously or opportunistically obstructed efforts to clarify the circumstances of this case, Spajić stated.
He also highlighted the crucial role of the media as agents of social change in promoting democracy. He stressed that it is essential for the institutions to protect and improve the lives of all citizens, especially those working in the media.
Everlasting memory to an exceptional man, an uncompromising journalist, and a shining example of civic responsibility and courage, the Prime Minister concluded in his statement.
