The Berlin Process is the right way to connect the Western Balkans region both internally and with the EU, based on European values, as discussed during the meeting between Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and the German Government's Special Representative for the Countries of the Western Balkans Manuel Sarrazin.

As part of the preparations for the upcoming anniversary summit of this initiative in Berlin in October, they discussed further steps to ensure the project operates at full capacity.

The importance of enhancing CEFTA (Central European Free Trade Agreement) was emphasised as a key mechanism for the economic convergence of the region. In the context of joining the European single market, efforts were also discussed to ensure that Montenegro becomes part of SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) as soon as possible.

It was noted that Montenegro remains fully committed to the Berlin Process, an initiative aimed at bringing the region closer to the EU.

This, as concluded, will also aid in the final phase of negotiations and the closing of chapters.
