A historic chance for our generation of politicians
Aleksa Bečić, Deputy Prime Minister for Security, Internal Policy, European and Foreign Affairs, said that he had a great honor and responsibility by taking on these duties.
Emphasizing the importance of issues covered by these areas, issues that concern our country, its citizens and the future of Montenegro, Bečić said, "My first message and the basic principle that will guide me in my work is that no one can do it alone, we need each other. The time in which we are forming this Government is turbulent, full of challenges and responsibilities, especially within the scope of the powers I am assuming. To work together does not mean that I expect that we all carry the same burden, on the contrary, I am aware that my duties carry the greatest responsibility, but my first message is a call for cooperation around the goal that we have set out together, which is to eradicate the mafia in our country , to economically empower the citizens, and to vigorously oppose systemic corruption", said Deputy Prime Minister Bečić.
We have a historic chance that this generation, our generation of politicians, brings Montenegro into the European Union, and that is why I want to pledge that everything I do, every step, every reform, every inevitable change will serve the purpose of accelerated membership of Montenegro in the EU. I believe that we are a nation that knows how to bond together, that we have realized that divisions only bring poverty and apathy and benefit the mafia. The time we live in requires a different view than ours, and that is why I will be ready to listen and respect different opinions in the Government and the departments I coordinate, he said.
Stating that every professional and well-founded opinion must be listened to because that is the only way we can achieve our goal, which is to build a new and modern political system, Deputy Prime Minister Bečić pointed out that the experiences of those countries that have successfully done what awaits us are welcome, because, as he says, "I want us to build friendships and connect professionally outside the borders of our country," concluded Bečić.
