Abazović stated that there is a lasting friendship between the two countries, which is unbreakable and an example in the region.

Let's increase trust, support regional initiatives and eliminate all barriers. Let's do everything to treat this zone as one in the economic sense in the future, in order to be competitive with the European Union, Abazović pointed out.

DPM Abazović pointed out that the idea and ambition of the Government of Montenegro is to have identical relations with the countries of the Western Balkans as with North Macedonia, emphasising that we want intensive flow of people, goods and services off season and close cooperation of the chambers of commerce.

Abazović noted that we must work on breaking all possible prejudices in the Western Balkans in order to join the European Union.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia Fatmir Bytyqi noted that Mr. Abazović and he promised at the previous meeting that they would continue to work hard and support efforts to intensify relations between the two countries, in order to develop the entire Western Balkans region.

The Western Balkans region has a great chance to use its advantages in the post-COVID period and to position itself on the European and world map as a stable region that will be recognised by mutual cooperation and democratic values, Bytyqi pointed out.

Bytyci stressed the need for the Western Balkans to grow into a competitive region that is constantly increasing its share in the world economy and that is attractive to investors.

We are strengthening competitiveness through the common value chains of the Western Balkans in the post-COVID period. We strive for the European Union and we have an obligation towards the citizens to create better living conditions. Our cooperation continues, the exchange of knowledge, experiences and good practices between the two countries is the key to our development, Bytyqi concluded.
