Abazović meets David Huntley
Prime Minister Dritan Abazović hosted David Huntley, Assistant Director and Head of Western Balkans region at HMRC’s Fiscal Crime Liaison Officer Network.
British Ambassador to Montenegro Karen Maddocks and Acting Director of the Revenue and Customs Administration Vladimir Bulajić also attended the meeting.
Huntley expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Abazović and the institutions for cooperation in the previous period when it comes to the fight against cigarette smuggling, stating that the United Kingdom continues to cooperate with Montenegrin institutions in order to improve the work of the customs system. In this context, Huntley pointed out that the British delegation will visit the Port of Bar tomorrow.
Prime Minister Abazović thanked the United Kingdom for the support they have continuously provided to Montenegro in the fight against crime, especially cigarette smuggling through the Port of Bar Free Zone. In this regard, the Prime Minister pointed out the historical results achieved in the fight against cigarette smuggling in 2022.
Prime Minister Abazović and Ambassador Maddocks expressed their satisfaction with the upcoming signing of a contract between the two sides in order to further improve cybersecurity.
