Abazović, Xhaferi: Relations between Montenegro and North Macedonia are an example to everyone in Western Balkans

Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro Dritan Abazović met with President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia Talat Xhaferi.

The meeting stated that Montenegro and the Republic of North Macedonia have excellent relations that should be an example to all countries in the region. The two officials agreed that relations between the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Parliament of Montenegro are extraordinary and that parliamentary cooperation should continue in the same spirit.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro said that he was pleased with the friendly relations between North Macedonia and Montenegro and that the Government would make additional efforts to improve cooperation on several grounds. Abazović said that there is room for improving economic and regional cooperation, and that several meetings of Montenegrin and North Macedonian officials in the last three months are proof that there is a mutual desire to make a step forward and build bridges of cooperation, unburdened by the past.

President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia Talat Xhaferi said that the relations between North Macedonia and Montenegro are excellent and that there are no open issues, which gives a special impetus to use the potentials that the two countries have at their disposal. Xhaferi said that this visit will contribute to the development of trade cooperation.

The President of the Assembly said that the countries should work on deepening regional cooperation as a basis for even more intensive cooperation on the path to European integration.
