Agreement reached on new Draft Law on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities

Representatives of the Government – the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Dialogue, the Ministry of Finance, the Employment Agency of Montenegro – along with representatives of associations of persons with disabilities and the Montenegrin Employers Federation, reached an agreement at today’s meeting to initiate a new process for drafting the Law on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities.
As concluded during the meeting, the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Dialogue will tomorrow issue a public call for the nomination of at least three representatives from NGOs recognised as representative organisations of persons with disabilities to participate in the Working Group responsible for preparing the Draft Law.
It was agreed that the Draft Law should be completed within two months from the day of the formation of the Working Group, with the possibility of an extension should the need arise.
Additionally, the Ministry will tomorrow inform the representatives of associations of persons with disabilities of the deadline for submitting the Rulebook on the conditions, criteria, and procedure for exercising the right to subsidies, for publication in the Official Gazette, with the expectation that it will be officially published by the end of April.
The shared goal, as underlined during the meeting, is to identify and define the best legal solutions that will further enhance and regulate the rights and obligations stipulated by this law.
