Aleksandar Damjanović holds a Master's degree in Economics and was recognized for his academic excellence as the top student of the Faculty of Economics in Podgorica in 1992.
After completing his studies, he began his professional journey as an advisor in the Ministry of Finance of Montenegro. Later, he served as a federal foreign exchange inspector in the Ministry of Finance of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, department in Podgorica. From 2004 to 2007, Damjanović was the Secretary of the SNP Parliamentary Club in the Montenegrin Parliament, and subsequently, he served as a Member of Parliament until 2020. During his parliamentary tenure, he actively contributed to several parliamentary committees, including the Administrative Committee, the Committee for Political System and Judiciary, and served as the Chairman of the Committee on Economy, Finance, and Budget in the Montenegrin Parliament. In 2006, he was the President of the Republic Committee for Financing the Referendum Campaign, and later served as the President of the Parliamentary Club in three parliamentary terms. In 2021, he assumed the role of acting Director of the Tax Administration, later becoming the Director of the Tax and Customs Administration.
Throughout his illustrious career, Damjanović has been a member of the National Council for European Integration and the National Commission for the Fight against Organized Crime and Corruption. He also served as a member of the parliamentary plenum of the Energy Community and the European Forum for Renewable Energy Sources.
For his significant contributions to the promotion of renewable energy and energy efficiency, Damjanović was honored with the "ETA" regional award in 2015.
His engagement in numerous seminars, roundtables, and conferences, both internationally and domestically, reflects his commitment to continuous learning and networking. Participating in events such as the US Prayer Breakfast, the Parliamentary Dimension of EU Presidency, GIZ, the American Council of Young Political Leaders, among others, further enriches his knowledge and global perspective.
Besides his accomplishments, Aleksandar Damjanović is fluent in English, enabling effective communication on both national and international levels.
