The 6th session of the Bureau for Operational Coordination, chaired by Minister of Justice and Bureau Coordinator Marko Kovač, was convened. In attendance, by invitation, were Boris Savić, President of the Higher Court in Podgorica, and Filip Adžić, Minister of the Interior, alongside other Bureau members. The session focused on security issues and protective measures for the facilities and premises of law enforcement agencies, with special attention to the recent incident involving the Higher Court depot in Podgorica.

Based on gathered information, the Bureau for Operational Coordination identified the break-in at the Higher Court depot in Podgorica as the most significant and dangerous attack on state institutions and the judiciary system. It was concluded that these activities displayed a high level of organization and professionalism, involving multiple individuals of varying profiles.

It was noted that competent state authorities swiftly took all necessary actions to determine the circumstances and facts related to the incident, as well as to identify and locate those involved. In this regard, these efforts have resulted in the discovery of several leads that will be subject to further investigation and examination. Furthermore, intensive activities are currently underway to identify six individuals with substantial evidence of their involvement in this event.

Simultaneously, efforts are being made to identify the masterminds behind this criminal operation. However, considering the seriousness of the current situation and its potential consequences, in accordance with the provisions of the Law on the Fundamentals of the Intelligence and Security Sector, the Bureau for Operational Coordination emphasised the urgent need to intensify all activities of the intelligence and security sector to protect the vital interests of state institutions.

It was also noted that the location of the building housing the Higher Court, despite having a high degree of physical and technical security measures, presents various security risks. Accordingly, ongoing efforts are being made to permanently address and secure spatial and infrastructural capacities for the needs of judicial and prosecutorial authorities. In the meantime, it is imperative to implement additional technical and other forms of security for the building housing the Higher Court in Podgorica.

At the conclusion of the session, it was agreed that law enforcement agencies will vigorously protect state interests and bring all individuals involved in this criminal operation to justice through joint efforts.
