Constitutive session of Steering Committee of Montenegro Acceleration Fund

Representatives of the Government of Montenegro and the United Nations system in Montenegro will hold a constitutive session of the Steering Committee of Montenegro SDG Acceleration Fund. As a new generation of financial tools designed to pool donor funds and direct them towards development initiatives, the Fund is designed to support integrated and coherent resource mobilization, centralized and transparent channeling of funds to promote the development and implementation of integrated activities aimed at meeting the Sustainable Development Goals and accelerating the accession process EU.

Prime Minister Dritan Abazović and UN Resident Coordinator in Montenegro Peter Lundberg will co-chair the session.

The Steering Committee bears the overall responsibility for management of the Montenegro Acceleration Fund. It is responsible for leadership, strategic direction, and decisions on eligibility, allocation and other managerial and oversight aspects of the Fund.
