Contract on the Kotor-Lovćen cable car signed

Minister of Economic Development Jakov Milatović and the representative of the Leitner Consortium, Martin Leitner, signed the Agreement on the construction of the Kotor - Lovćen cable car.

At the press conference, Minister Milatović emphasised that the Government of Montenegro and the Ministry of Economic Development managed to complete the multi-year negotiations on this important project in just a few months.

The Kotor-Lovćen cable car project will directly affect the business environment of the entire area, but also create conditions for a special experience of Lovćen and the Bay of Kotor. It will be an incentive for additional development, Milatovic said.

The Minister emphasised that this cable car will be one of the most beautiful structures of its kind in Europe and its beauty and importance are reflected in connecting two extremely important locations - Kotor, which is under UNESCO protection and Lovćen National Park.

The Kotor-Lovćen cable car will enable tourists to get to know Lovćen and the Old Royal Capital in a unique experience, Milatović said.

He reminded that the total value of the project is around 20 million.

Our company was founded more than 130 years ago and we have built cable cars around the world, but this cable car project will be one of the best we have ever done and I am sure it will be a success story for the whole of Montenegro, said Mr. Martin Leitner.

He added that he is very proud of this project because it is completely acceptable and environmentally sustainable.

President of the Municipality of Kotor Vladimir Jokić thanked the Ministry and the Government of Montenegro for their efforts to implement this project.
