Deputy Prime Minister Filip Ivanović meets with Czech President Petr Pavel

Deputy Prime Minister Filip Ivanović hosted an official meeting with President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel, during his official visit to Montenegro. The meeting was attended by Montenegro’s Minister of Defence Dragan Krapović, Minister of European Affairs Maida Gorčević, Minister of Transport Maja Vukićević, and Minister of Public Administration Marash Dukaj.

Discussions focused on Montenegro's European integration, strengthening bilateral cooperation, and addressing shared challenges in regional and international contexts.

Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović expressed his gratitude to the Czech Republic for its continued support of Montenegro's EU accession process, highlighting the importance of deepening relations between the two countries in political, economic, and cultural spheres.

Montenegro remains committed to its European path, fully aware of the benefits EU membership brings. As the most advanced country in the region in the EU accession process, our ambition and determination are clear. We are especially grateful to the Czech Republic for its support and friendship toward the Western Balkans. Despite the challenges of the past year, we managed to close three negotiation chapters and achieve significant progress in key reforms. This year has started intensely, with new goals ahead of us, stated Deputy Prime Minister Ivanović.

President Pavel reaffirmed the Czech Republic's strong partnership with Montenegro and its steadfast support for the country's EU aspirations. He commended Montenegro's reform efforts and dedication to European values.

With over 20 years of experience as an EU member, the Czech Republic is in a position to offer advice to help accelerate your European journey. We are ready to facilitate the exchange of experts and students and to strengthen economic ties, President Pavel said.

Both parties agreed on the importance of maintaining close cooperation and enhancing the partnership between Montenegro and the Czech Republic, emphasizing their shared commitment to regional stability and progress.

The meeting took place in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, underscoring the strong bonds and mutual trust between the two nations.
