Fatmir Gjeka

Minister of Human and Minority Rights ‎‎

Fatmir Gjeka was born on 17 April 1975 in Bar. He completed his studies at the Faculty of Economics at Luigj Gurakuqi University in Shkodër in 1997.

In the period from 2005 to 2007, he pursued postgraduate studies in entrepreneurial economics at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Montenegro.

From 2002 to 2011, he served as the Secretary of the Secretariat for Budget and Finance in the Municipality of Ulcinj.

He was a member of the Commission for Financing Local Government and served as its president for one term.

On 24 December 2011, he was elected as the President of the Democratic Party during the Constitutional Assembly.

Representing the Albanian Coalition, he was elected as a member of the Parliament of Montenegro in the parliamentary elections held on 14 October 2012.

He served as a member of the Committee for European Integration, the Committee for Anti-Corruption, and as a deputy member of the Permanent Delegation to the Central European Initiative Parliamentary Dimension (CEI PD).

As a member of Parliament, he was also the president of the Parliamentary Club of Albanian parties, the Croatian Civic Initiative, and the Liberal Party of Montenegro.

Fatmir Gjeka was elected as the President of the Municipality of Ulcinj on 24 February 2014. He held this position until 21 March 2016.

On 27 June 2018, he was elected as the president of the Tourist Organization of Ulcinj.

As a representative of the Albanian Coalition "Unanimously," he was elected as a member of the Parliament of Montenegro in the parliamentary elections held on 30 August 2020.

Fatmir Gjeka is married and has two children.
