Foreign Minister Radulović pays visit to Italian Parliament

During his working visit to the Republic of Italy, Minister of Foreign Affairs Đorđe Radulović met with President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Senate Vito Rosario Petrocelli, and President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies Piero Fassino.

Minister Radulović expressed gratitude for the support that Italy, as one of the founders of the EU, ally and close neighbour, unequivocally provides to our efforts to become a full member of the European Union, both politically and technically, by providing significant expertise, especially in the rule of law. In that context, Minister Radulović reiterated our firm commitment to meet the criteria and move to a new stage of accession negotiations.

The Minister emphasised the importance of the presence of NATO and the EU in the region for long-term stability and further successful implementation of reform processes.

Furthermore, he pointed out the excellent relations between the two countries, based on tradition and historical ties, stressing dynamic cooperation in numerous areas, such as science, culture, education and economy.

The Italian officials confirmed the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries and pointed out the unquestionable support for the integration processes in our country and the Region. They also pointed out their commitment to intensifying inter-parliamentary cooperation.

They pointed out that Montenegro's progress in the negotiation process is evident, and that the results achieved in key areas confirm that it deserves to become the next EU member.
