Marking the 75th Anniversary of the Council of Europe
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Program Office of the Council of Europe and the Faculty of Law of the University of Montenegro, will mark the 75th anniversary of the Council of Europe and 20 years of the application of the European Convention on Human Rights in Montenegro on Tuesday, 22 October 2024.
The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Faculty of Law, University of Montenegro. Opening remarks will be delivered by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ervin Ibrahimović, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Aneta Spaić, and Head of the Program Office of the Council of Europe, Lejla Dervišagić. In the introductory part, Bjørn Berge, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe, will address the audience via video link.
The event will highlight the significance of the Council of Europe and its historical achievements in the protection of human rights, democratic values, and the rule of law, as well as the importance of further dialogue on European integration to ensure full protection and respect for the rights of all citizens.
