Minister Borovinić Bojović pays visit to Hungary
Minister of Health Jelena Borovinić Bojović, Secretary General of the Government Božo Milonjić and Director of the Directorate of Digital Health in the Ministry of Health Aleksandar Sekulić are paying an official visit to Hungary, where they met with Minister of Human Resources Miklós Kásler and his associates.
The department led by Kásler is the largest in the Hungarian administration and includes health, education, culture, sports and social welfare.
The meeting discussed the coronavirus pandemic and the response of the two countries. The ministers exchanged experiences both as doctors and as the leaders of the departments, discussed measures to prevent the spread of the virus, protocols for the treatment of COVID-19 and knowledge about the virus itself and the diseases that have occurred so far. They also discussed vaccination, the vaccine procurement procedure, the way of determining priority groups and the implementation of the process itself.
Minister Borovinić Bojović presented the experiences and current challenges of our country and thanked her Hungarian counterpart for the assistance that Hungary has sent to Montenegro in the form of PCR tests, as well as for the announced donation of ventilators, but also for other types of solidarity and support that are currently crucial.
Minister Kásler expressed satisfaction with the visit of Minister Borovinić Bojović and the Montenegrin delegation. He presented the Hungarian experiences in the fight against the virus, but also spoke about Hungarian experience in the procurement of the vaccine. Hungary sent its experts to China and Russia very soon after the outbreak of the pandemic to check the quality of vaccines, and immediately after receiving certain relevant documentation, it decided to order vaccines from these two countries, in addition to European ones. Minister Kásler confirmed that it was a right step and that it is certain that other European countries will follow it.
Ministers Borovinić Bojović and Kásler agreed that the best vaccine is the one that is available first, and that vaccination is the only way out of a pandemic that knows no borders.
The two officials confirmed the need to further strengthen cooperation.
Minister Borovinić Bojović thanked Minister Kásler and the Hungarian Government for their hospitality and support during the pandemic and expressed confidence that the visit of the Montenegrin delegation is a big and important step towards strengthening and improving relations between the two countries. The first concrete result of this visit will be Hungary's consideration to relax the entry restrictions for passengers from Montenegro.
