Minister Damjanović meets French counterparts

Minister of Finance Aleksandar Damjanović met Minister for Foreign Trade, Attractiveness and French National Abroad Olivier Becht in Paris. The two officials discussed the possibilities of economic rapprochement between the two countries, that is, additional space for French companies to invest in Montenegro.

The ministers assessed that the greatest potential for future joint projects is precisely in traffic infrastructure and energy.

Minister Damjanović also met with Governor of the Council of Europe Development Bank Carlo Monticelli. In addition to the topic of the challenges of preserving fiscal sustainability and stability, which are facing Montenegro, Damjanović and Monticelli also discussed the current topic of cyber security, in the context of a permanent cyber war, assessing that Montenegro must show readiness, as a NATO member and a candidate for EU membership, to respond to cyber challenges with the necessary capacity.

During the first working day of his visit to France, Minister Damjanović had a meeting with Director for OECD Global Relations and Cooperation Andreas Schaal to discuss strengthening collaboration between Montenegro and OECD. The meeting noted that OECD will continue to be a strong partner for Montenegro in the design and implementation of policies to enhance the green transition and economic competitiveness.

On the second day of the visit to France, the Montenegrin delegation, led by Minister Damjanović, will meet with representatives of the French Senate and the French Development Agency (AFD).
