Minister Radulović and Ambassador Ardeleanu: Continuation of bilateral relations of Montenegro and Romania through deepening of economic cooperation

Minister of Foreign Affairs Đorđe Radulović met today with newly appointed Ambassador of Romania to Montenegro Matei Viorel Ardeleanu.

Minister Radulović congratulated to Ambassador on assuming the duties, while conveying the expectation to continue and to intensify the fruitful and friendly cooperation of two countries during his mandate.

Interlocutors discussed the importance of dynamisation of political dialogue, that would be enriched with high-level meetings. On that line, Minister Radulović conveyed the open call to the Romanian Foreign Minister to visit Montenegro as soon as epidemiological conditions allow. At the meeting, development of cooperation in tourism field was considered, as well as opportunities of establishing direct air connection during summer season.

Ambassador Ardeleanu stated that Romania, as a friend and ally, supports Montenegro’s European aspirations and reiterated that they are ready to provide expert assistance in the most challenging negotiation chapters.

Furthermore, he pointed the importance of cooperation in the economic domain, through organizing of meetings of the Chambers of Commerce of two countries, that would represent the opportunity to mutually identify potential areas of cooperation.

At the meeting, it was considered the issue of immunization and complex situation caused by COVID-19 pandemics, as well as methods of procurement and distribution of vaccines. Minister Radulović said that Montenegro would highly appreciate the support of Romania in securing the certain number of vaccine doses, having in mind that immunization needs to be launched as soon as possible. Romanian ambassador added that in Romania the immunization of the population has already started and that in the period to come they are expecting large number of doses. It was agreed that, regarding this issue, two sides will continue the extensive communication at the ministerial level so as to examine all possibilities for earliest opportunity procurement and distribution of vaccines.
