Minister Radulović at the Alliance for Multilateralism meeting: Montenegro counts on solidarity and support of its partners and allies

Minister of Foreign Affairs Đorđe Radulović participated today at the Ministerial meeting of the member states of Alliance for Multilateralism, that was held in online format. Meeting took place at the margins of the High-Level Segment of the Human Rights Council.

Minister Radulović emphasized, at the course of his presentation, the necessity of this initiative, that today more than ever before, recognize the purpose of preserving multilateralism as such. In the context of COVID-19 pandemics, he stated that not only as individuals, but as a collective as well, we are exposed to challenges that world has never seen for the generations before, so that they showed how much international cooperation, solidarity, and unity are necessary.   

Head of Montenegrin diplomacy considered the fact that the ongoing one-year crisis has influenced in so many ways on various vital issues for the international community, of which a great importance has area of human rights. Moreover, as highlighted, besides health issues important role represents the treatment of climate changes issues, where we need to go from words to actions. “We learned to adapt to new conditions that was imposed by pandemics. Yet, even though Montenegro is undertaking all the activities in course of preserving the health of its citizens, we count on solidarity and support at this crucial moment”, Minister Radulović stated. He added that as a small country, multilateralism represents, not only a choice, but a guarantee of prosperity as well.

The Alliance for Multilateralism that was initiated by French and German Ministers of Foreign Affairs on 2nd April 2019, represents the informal alliance of countries that share beliefs that multilateralism, based on principles of respecting international law, widely accepted international rules and principles, is the sole reliable guarantee for international stability and peace, while challenges that the world is facing with could only be solved by a joint cooperation.
