Montenegro and North Macedonia express readiness to hold joint cabinet session

Prime Minister Dritan Abazović and Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Joković met Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy of the Republic of North Macedonia Ljupco Nikolovski, who is paying a visit to Montenegro.

Prime Minister Abazovic expressed satisfaction with the exceptionally good bilateral relations between Montenegro and the Republic of North Macedonia and said that the visit of Minister Nikolovski will additionally strengthen cooperation, especially in the field of agriculture and food production.

In addition to tourism and energy, agriculture is the branch with the most significant potential for expansion. Our goal is to make the most of these opportunities in the coming period, the Prime Minister said.

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy of the Republic of North Macedonia Ljupco Nikolovski spoke about his country's results in the field of production and export, and expressed readiness to share good practices with Montenegro.

Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Joković pointed out that the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Montenegro is working on simplifying bureaucratic procedures in order to make access to EU funds as simple as possible.

North Macedonia is an example in the region in terms of using EU funds to develop agriculture and encourage production. Montenegro wants to adopt good practices, we are grateful to Macedonian friends for their readiness to support us, the Deputy Prime Minister said.

The officials exchanged views on current developments in the region and assessed that holding joint cabinet sessions is an important instrument for stronger cooperation between the countries of the region. In this context, they expressed readiness to hold a joint cabinet session of Montenegro and the Republic of North Macedonia.
