Montenegro to co-chair UNECE
Minister of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism Ana Novaković Đurović participated in the 70th session of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in Geneva on 18-19 April 2023.
In the next two years Switzerland will be the Commission chair, while Austria and Montenegro will be co-chairs.
The delegation of Montenegro, led by Minister Novaković Đurović, met Executive Secretary of the UNECE Olga Algayerova and Acting Regional Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Europe Office Sylvie Motard on the sidelines of the 70th UNECE session.
During the meetings, Novaković Đurović pointed out the priorities and numerous challenges in the field of sustainable development and environment, arising from the Chapter 27 – Environment and Climate Change, the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
