mr Nikola Veljovic

Born in Cetinje in 1984, where I finished elementary school and high school. I graduated from the Faculty of Banking and Trade in Novi Sad in 2007, major in banking. After basic studies, I received master's degree at Alfa University in Belgrade in 2012, major in corporate finance and banking.

In the period from 2006 to 2010, I stayed in the USA, in the state of New Jersey, on a student exchange and internship program, where I gained experience in various areas of business at Caesars Entertainment Corporation.

I started professional career in the position of advisor for inernational affairs and external funding in the office of the mayor of the Old Royal Capital Cetinje in 2011. While working in the Old Royal Capital Cetinje, I gained significant experience in economic and financial affairs in project management, auditing, control and reporting, mainly on projects financed by donors (EU, USAID, UNDP, GIZ, China, Japan, Germany and Norway). I also upgraded work experience through consulting engagement on projects implemented by international companies from China and Spain. Professional with expertise in the fields of economy, transport, energy, environment, business and project management with international experience.

In 2016, I continued professional engagement in Washington DC, USA, in the global consulting company Louis Berger in the field of transport, engineering, architecture, planning, environmental protection, construction and economic development. I worked as a contract administrator. In 2017, I became an economic and financial analyst at the giant company WSP USA, in Washington DC, where I participated in the preparation and implementation of many development projects and business improvement plans of the company.

I built up many years of work experience by participating in many regional and international conferences, seminars in the field of economics, finance, transport and project management in the USA, China and Europe. In the period from 2013 to 2015, I participated in professional development programs organized by the People's Republic of China. I hold a license for project cycle management, which I acquired in the USA during employment with Louis Berger and WSP USA.

From March 2021 to August 2022, I performed the duties of General Director of the Directorate for Capital Investments in the Ministry of Capital Investments.

In the period from October 2022 to January 2024 was engaged as a consultant in the global consulting company WYG International in the field of transport, engineering, architecture, planning, environmental protection, construction and economic development.

In January 2024 was nominated as an acting Director General of the Directorate for capital projects and international cooperation in the Ministry of transport and maritime affairs.
