Nothing will halt the implementation of the "Velje Brdo" project, Spatial and Urban Plan to be adopted by year-end
Intense activities are underway for the "Velje Brdo" project, with the Spatial and Urban Plan for the Capital City set to be adopted by the end of the year. The Coordination Body overseeing the project has reaffirmed that nothing will stand in the way of this initiative, which is of strategic importance for the country’s development.
At today’s fifth session of the Coordination Body, attended by Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, it was concluded that a positive opinion on the Spatial and Urban Plan is expected, with the plan to be officially adopted by 31 December 2024.
A dedicated website has been prepared to allow interested citizens to apply for housing under the "Velje Brdo" project. The platform will become operational following the adoption of the Spatial and Urban Plan at a Cabinet session.
One of the key outcomes of today’s session was the submission of a request to increase the number of housing units within the "Velje Brdo" project to 20,000.
Construction is planned to begin by the end of 2025, with the first residences ready for occupancy in 2026.
Work is ongoing to develop the most effective model for establishing an organizational unit to manage the project.
Declared a project of public interest, "Velje Brdo" highlights the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure, boosting the economy, and enhancing the quality of life for citizens.
In light of this, the Coordination Body is making every effort to ensure that the project proceeds as planned, with transparency and collaboration with all relevant stakeholders.
The session emphasized ongoing activities related to planning, infrastructure, and financial projections to ensure the project's sustainability, alongside the development of an initial digital platform to support implementation.
We urge the public to place their trust in the work of the Coordination Body, which remains fully dedicated to realizing this strategically significant project.
The meeting was attended by the working group for drafting the Podgorica Spatial and Urban Plan, including Ana Tošić Jokić, Biljana Ivanović, Ratko Vujović, and Luka Milačić.
