Operations Coordination Bureau adopts SOCTA
The Serious and Organised Crime Threat Assessment of Montenegro (SOCTA) was adopted today, which targets organised criminal groups and threats to the national security of Montenegro, it was announced after the sixth session of the Operations Coordination Bureau.
SOCTA is developed by the Interdepartmental Operational Team composed of representatives of the intelligence and security sector and the Prosecutor's Office.
The classified version of the Serious and Organised Crime Threat Assessment of Montenegro contains data on the membership and structure of criminal groups.
We point out that the public version of SOCTA will be available soon, so that the public can get acquainted with the key characteristics of the criminal activities that are covered in the document.
The proposal of the list of national priorities in the field of the fight against serious and organised crime was also adopted at today's session. The list includes eight areas and will be submitted to the National Security Council for final verification.
In this regard, preconditions have been created to start activities on planning and implementation of further measures and actions in the fight against serious and organised crime, with a focus on the identified priorities, in accordance with the competencies of the Operations Coordination Bureau and other bodies of the intelligence and security sector.
The Operations Coordination Bureau also adopted the Report on the Work of the National Interdepartmental Operational Team for Combating Violent Extremism, Terrorism, Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing.
Today's session was attended by President of the Operations Coordination Bureau Dritan Abazović and following members: Director of the Police Directorate Zoran Brđanin, Director of the National Security Agency Dejan Vukšić, Director General of the Intelligence and Security Directorate Lieutenant Colonel Todor Goranović, Acting Director General of the Directorate for Security and Oversight Petar Koprivica. Chief Special State Prosecutor Vladimir Novović and Secretary of the National Operational Team for Combating Violent Extremism, Terrorism, Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Kristina Đukanović were also invited to attend the session.
