Prime Minister of Montenegro Zdravko Krivokapić met today with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Montenegro, H.E. Vladislav Maslenikov.

Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić expressed gratitude to the Russian Federation, the Prime Minister of Russia, the Russian people and Ambassador Maslenikov, for the delivery of the first shipment of 5,000 doses, out of a total of 50,000 agreed Sputnik V vaccines.

PM Krivokapić emphasised that the delivery of Sputnik V vaccine is of immeasurable value and that it represents great hope for all citizens of Montenegro.

The Prime Minister reminded Ambassador Maslenikov that this procurement was preceded by a certain uncertainty of complex bilateral negotiations, which is the result of a specific international COVID-19 situation, but that Russia once again reacted in the spirit of centuries-old friendly relations.

Prime Minister Krivokapić pointed out that the vaccination process is very important for Montenegro as a tourist destination, adding that Sputnik V arrives on time in order for tourism entrepreneurs to be more ready for the summer season than in the previous year.

Ambassador Maslenikov was pleased to hear the Prime Minister's words and pointed out that for him personally, 25 February was also a long-awaited day, which finally happened.

Ambassador Maslenikov said that from the beginning, Russia advocated the joint production of vaccines against the coronavirus, because only in that way, as he stated, can the extremely large needs of the world market be met.
