PM Krivokapić, President Pahor: Slovenia is Montenegro's sincere friend

Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić is paying a working visit to Slovenia, where he met today with President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor.

"Our perspective is in the European Union, and we do not have and are not looking for an alternative," said PM Krivokapić at a meeting with the Slovenian President.

Prime Minister Krivokapić expressed satisfaction with his visit to Slovenia and pointed out that Slovenia's experience and support as a member state of the European Union are of great importance for Montenegro. "The geographical proximity and common history of our countries contribute to good cooperation in all areas. This is a particularly important factor on our European path. In Slovenia, we have a strong support and a guide in which way to direct our integration ambitions. We are grateful to you for that," said the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Krivokapić said that civil Montenegro follows the path of tolerance, understanding, respect and peace, and that it should turn more to social justice and economic policy.

President of Slovenia Borut Pahor expressed satisfaction with the meeting with PM Krivokapić. He expressed support for the efforts of the Government of Montenegro to work on strengthening the civil state, which is a good message to other countries in the Western Balkans that want to join the EU. Pahor also emphasised that reconciliation is the only way in Montenegro.

The two officials agreed that Montenegro is on the right path, and that in the coming period it is necessary to face challenges, especially in Chapters 23 and 24, in order to continue good dynamics and create conditions for the completion of accession negotiations.
