Prime Minister Spajić meets with Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister
Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed optimism about strengthening ties with Montenegro, highlighting the shared values between the two nations. “Montenegro is a fascinating country with which Bahrain, despite the distance, shares numerous similarities. I hope your visit will be the first of many that will solidify our friendship and cooperation,” stated Sheikh Al Khalifa during his meeting with Montenegro’s Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, who is paying his first official visit to Bahrain.
Prime Minister Spajić introduced the Crown Prince to Montenegro’s current economic landscape, emphasising that, after one year of his administration’s reforms, Montenegro is well-positioned for accelerated economic development.
Spajić presented Montenegro’s investment potential and plans for infrastructure development, underscoring the Government's commitment to fostering a supportive business environment. “We want to introduce Montenegro to the world and open up to new, reliable investments,” Spajić stated.
The Montenegrin Prime Minister also emphasised the importance of developing a competitive workforce through educational and labour market reforms. He sees potential for knowledge exchange with Bahrain, particularly following the signing of a Memorandum with Bahrain’s Labour Fund, Tamkeen, which has achieved significant success in these areas.
Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with Spajić’s visit, noting that it comes at a pivotal moment. "The time is ripe for our two countries to strengthen economic ties based on our friendship. With so many similarities, Bahrain and Montenegro have a strong potential to develop bilateral relations more intensively for mutual benefit,” he said.
The leaders noted that Montenegro and Bahrain, as multicultural and multi-confessional societies, share both similarities and the common challenge of establishing a stronger presence in the global market. "While celebrating our differences, we must unite around a common goal," emphasised Bahrain’s Prime Minister.
During the meeting, both sides agreed on the need to enhance the contractual framework as a foundation for expanding cooperation in sectors of mutual interest, particularly in industry, tourism, energy, advanced technology, and ICT.
To further solidify relations, Prime Minister Spajić extended an invitation to Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and his associates to visit Montenegro in the near future.
