Filing application for registration and deregistration

A foreign national entering Montenegro without a visa pursuant to the Decree on Visa Regime of Montenegro (the Decree is available at: www.mvp.gov.me) as well as a foreign national who has been issued a visa, and who does not use the services of the accommodation provider, is obliged to file an application for registration and cancellation of residence in the place where he/she intends to stay.

The application for registration and cancellation of residence shall be filled on a prescribed form in accordance with the Rulebook on the Form and Manner of Submitting Registration and Cancellation of Residence for Foreign Nationals and the Content and Manner of Keeping Records, either directly to the police or through the local tourist organization (LTO) in the place of residence.

A foreign national is obliged to file the registration and cancellation of residence also in the case when he/she intends to stay in another place in Montenegro for longer than 24 hours.

Registration of residence is submitted within 24 hours of arrival to the place of stay.

The application for registration and cancellation for the child shall be filled by the foreign parent, adoptive parent, guardian, foster parent, i.e. the person to whom the child is entrusted for custody, care, upbringing and education.

The Form can be obtained at the place of application (police or local tourist organization) or downloaded from the website of the Ministry of Interior - Police Directorate.

Registration of a foreign national in a local tourist organization is done by receiving the prescribed Form 1 (Prijava i odjava boravka / Residence registration and cancellation) filled in by the foreign national or by filling out the form by a representative of the local tourist organization using a document reader and entering legally prescribed data in the prescribed form. In the header of the form there is a space for the name of the LTO as well as a space for entering the number from the LTO records (Broj/ No _____). After the electronic entry of the data on the application - cancellation, the form (Form 1) is printed and signed by the person who filled the application for registration and cancellation, i.e. the foreign national. One copy of the completed and signed Form remains with the local tourism organization. A copy of the completed Form, at his/her request, may be given to the person who filled the application for registration and cancellation as proof of the completed registration - cancellation.

By signing the completed Form, whether it is filled in manually or electronically by a representative of the local tourist organization, the applicant - foreign national takes responsibility for the accuracy of the data entered in the Form.
