Renovated Pediatric Department at Tivat Primary Health Care Centre Reopens
The pediatric department of Tivat Primary Health Care Centre has been reopened today after extensive renovations, interior refurbishment, and replacement of furniture, with support from company Luštica Development, which provided over €60,000 for the project.
The symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, Minister of Health Dragoslav Šćekić, Director of Tivat Primary Health Care Centre Danica Stevović, and Marko Vukašević, Head of Government and Community Relations at Luštica Development.
Prime Minister Dritan Abazović stated that today's donation to Tivat Primary Health Care Centre exemplifies the socially responsible practices of a major company like Luštica Development. He expressed gratitude for their decision to support the health care centre and conveyed special appreciation to the healthcare workers, particularly those serving a higher number of citizens during the summer tourist season.
Health Minister Dragoslav Šćekić thanked Luštica Development for their generous donation and emphasised the Government's commitment to fully reconstructing Tivat Primary Health Care Centre to provide modern facilities and adequate treatment conditions for patients. He highlighted other recent projects, including the donation to the maternity ward in Bijelo Polje and the acquisition of a new €80,000 X-ray machine, as examples of the importance of private and corporate contributions to healthcare.
Minister Šćekić announced plans for further strengthening the health system, with approximately 250 new specializations and subspecializations approved for Montenegrin doctors in the past two years. He revealed that Tivat Primary Health Care Centre would soon receive additional medical personnel, including an ophthalmologist, internal medicine and family medicine practitioners, and a radiology specialist, further enhancing the centre's capabilities.
Luštica Development considers the reconstruction of the pediatric department as one of its largest and most significant community support projects this year. Marko Vukašević from Luštica Development stated that although they hope fewer children will need to utilize the facilities, their assistance significantly improves the centre's quality of service.
Director of Tivat Primary Health Care Centre Danica Stevović praised Luštica Bay's donation for significantly enhancing the pediatric department's infrastructure, working conditions, and service quality for the youngest patients. The completely reconstructed and adapted 190-square-meter pediatric department will provide two pediatric teams with improved facilities to conduct an average of 40 daily and approximately 1,200 monthly examinations.
In the past, Luštica Bay also contributed to the local community by donating a medical vehicle to the Emergency Medical Service in Tivat in 2015 and another vehicle for the Radovići ambulance two years later.
With the recent establishment of the Emergency Intervention Service, including an ambulance staffed with three doctors and three medical technicians, medical services are now available to all residents of the region.
The collaboration between Luštica Development and Tivat Primary Health Care Centre reflects a shared commitment to enhancing healthcare and improving the well-being of the local community.
