Second meeting of the Commission for resolving the status of the Dr. Simo Milošević Institute: All options on the table
The second session of the government's Commission for resolving the status of the Institute for Physical Medicine, Rehabilitation, and Rheumatology "Dr. Simo Milošević" took place on 8 March. The aim was to consider all options reached by the Operational Team in its previous work, also formed by this Commission.
In addition to the Commission members, representatives of the Institute, Stevan Katić, the President of the Municipality of Herceg Novi, as well as a representative of the Competition Protection Agency, attended the session.
Deputy Prime Minister for Labour, Education, Health, and Social Affairs Srđan Pavićević, serving as the President of the Commission, summarized the Operational Team's progress and the outcome of discussions with minority shareholders. He also opened discussion on all outstanding issues significant for resolving the Institute's status and selecting a rescue model.
After a two-hour discussion, a high level of consensus was reached regarding the detailed preparation and implementation of a Restructuring Plan, in accordance with the rules and principles of state aid allocation and prevailing legislation.
To expedite the implementation of this model, President of the Commission Srđan Pavićević concluded that certain prerequisites must be met in the shortest possible time. These include defining ownership of the Institute's property, initiating negotiations with the bankruptcy executor of Jugobanka, and other measures to minimize the risk to further state investments in the Rescue and Restructuring Plan.
The Commission agrees that, with the fulfillment of the aforementioned prerequisites, this model could represent a sustainable solution for rescuing the Institute from the imminent bankruptcy zone.
During the following week, Deputy Prime Ministers and relevant ministers will discuss the Commission's conclusions with Prime Minister Milojko Spajić.
