Statement by Deputy Prime Minister Aleksa Bećić
Today, on the 26th anniversary of the NATO bombing, we solemnly remember all the innocent civilians who lost their lives. Their names, their fates, and their families remain permanently inscribed in the collective memory of our citizens.
Those 78 days, marked by pain, uncertainty, and sorrow, left a profound impact. The tragedies and the innocent victims oblige us to be responsible guardians of remembrance.
As a modern and responsible nation, Montenegro today builds its foreign policy on the principles of peace, stability, and partnership. Our policy is focused on cooperation, as we recognize that no tragedy has ever brought justice, nor has any war secured the future.
The memory of the victims of the bombing compels us to foster a culture of peace, strengthen institutions that protect human life, and ensure that Montenegro remains a country that will never again allow such tragedies to occur.
