Tender announced for conceptual design of Andrijevica – Peć highway, Andrijevica – Čakor section

Monteput has announced a tender for the conceptual design of the Andrijevica – Peć highway, specifically the Andrijevica - Čakor section. The highway extends from the connection with the Bar – Boljare highway in Andrijevica, crossing the border with Kosovo to Peć, and plays a significant role in improving regional connectivity, economic cooperation, and development.

The purpose of developing the technical documentation is to conduct detailed research and determine the optimal corridor for the construction of this section. The goal is for the conceptual design to fully meet the needs of both Montenegro and Kosovo.

According to the valid Spatial Plan of Montenegro, the corridor for the Andrijevica - Peć highway has been designated. The conceptual design will define the most optimal route and create conditions for the development of subsequent phases of project documentation and the construction of this road.

The designer is obliged to consider all technical, economic, spatial, environmental, and other aspects and consequences of construction, while respecting the conditions outlined in the project task, using modern technical and technological methods and tools. This is particularly important considering that, due to the very complex terrain configuration, a significant portion of the routes consists of tunnels and bridge structures.

In developing conceptual designs, spatial-planning aspects must be considered in terms of choosing the optimal route, location and concept of grade-separated intersections, toll booths, the location of accompanying and functional facilities, ecological aspects, existing infrastructure, existing cultural heritage sites, religious facilities, and all other relevant objects that may be pertinent to making the final decision on the route position.

The development of a new Spatial Plan of Montenegro until 2040 is underway, with the intention of defining unified corridors for major traffic routes, including highways and expressways.
