Visa regime

Nationals of Montenegro may enter, pass through and stay in Denmark for up to 90 days, with a valid travel document, without a visa.

Diplomatic relations

Denmark officially recognized Montenegro's independence on June 15th 2006, when diplomatic relations were established.

Political relations between Montenegro and Denmark are friendly, based on the principles of openness and cooperation in many areas. Since Denmark, like other Scandinavian EU member states, supports the enlargement policy, cooperation between the two countries is reflected in Danish support for Montenegro's European integration.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Montenegro to the Kingdom of Denmark, based in Podgorica, is Mirsad Bibović (he took office on May 6th 2019).

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark to Montenegro, based in Belgrade, is Susan Shine (she took office on February 10th 2021).

Official visits

President of Parliament of Montenegro Ranko Krivokapić paid an official visit to Denmark from April 10th-12th 2012.

Minister of European Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark Nikolaj Vamen paid an official visit to Montenegro on February 21st 2012.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom od Denmark Per Stig Meller paid an official visit to Montenegro on March 6th 2007.
