Visa regime
Citizens of Montenegro, holders of ordinary passports, need a visa to enter Ireland. The Embassy of Ireland in Budapest is in charge.
Persons residing in Montenegro submit visa applications to the Consulate of Ireland based in Belgrade.
Diplomatic relations
Ireland recognized the independence of Montenegro on June 20, 2016, when diplomatic relations were established between the two countries.
Bilateral relations between Montenegro and the Republic of Ireland are based on the principles of friendly cooperation and understanding. Ireland seeks to contribute to the successful continuation of democratic, economic and overall social reforms in Montenegro by supporting the process of European integration.

The Montenegrin Embassy in London is in charge of diplomatic representation in Ireland.

So far, there has been no exchange of visits at the level of the three presidents, as well as at the level of foreign ministers.
