Visa regime
Montenegrin citizens receive a visa at the airport (free of charge), as long as it is valid for at least 6 months upon their return to the country. There must be two parties in the passport that are not filled with visas or stamps and also if there is no Israeli visa in the passport.
Diplomatic relations
Lebanon recognized Montenegro on December 4th 2008, when diplomatic relations were established.
The Consulate of Montenegro in the Republic of Lebanon, based in Beirut, headed by Honorary Consul Marwan Paul Kebe, was opened on December 4th 2008.
Political contacts
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Đorđe Radulović, had a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lebanon, Abdullah Bau Habib, on November 29th 2021, on the sidelines of the VI Regional Forum of the Union for the Mediterranean.
Minister of Transport and Public Works of the Republic of Lebanon, Gazi Arija, paid an official visit to Montenegro and, on that occasion, met with the then former Minister of Foreign Affairs Milan Roćen, Minister of Economy Vladimir Kavarić and Minister of Transport Andrija Lompar, from November 2-5th 2011.
Economic cooperation
The total trade between Montenegro and Lebanon in the period from January to November 2021 amounted to € 786,657 (of which imports amounted to € 59,139 and exports € 727,518), while in 2020 trade amounted to € 65,766 (completely related to imports), and in 2019 trade amounted to € 45,954 (of which exports amounted to € 5,706, while imports amounted to € 40,248), and in 2018 amounted to € 36,005 (of which imports amounted to € € 30,549 and exports € 5,456).
In previous years, direct investments from Lebanon have not been recorded.
There are no statistics on the number of tourists coming from Lebanon.
