Visa regime

Montenegrin citizens can enter, transit through the territory and stay in Liechtenstein for up to 90 days, with a valid travel document, without a visa.

Diplomatic relations

Liechtenstein officially recognized the independence of Montenegro on June 21, 2006. Diplomatic relations were established on March 26, 2007.

Bilateral meetings

President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr. Ivan Brajović visited Liechtenstein, on September 21st 2018.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Igor Lukšić paid a visit to Liechtenstein from 8th-9th October 2014. 

Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Milan Roćen paid a visit to Liechtenstein on 12th July 2010.  

Economic indicators

In the period January-July 2021, trade exchange between Montenegro and Liechtenstein amounted to 30,1 thousand euros (exports: 4,9 thousand euros; imports: 25,1 thousand euros) In 2020, total trade exchange between Montenegro and Liechtenstein amounted to 28 thousand euros (exports: 5,8 thousand euros; imports: 22,2 thousand euros).

In the period January-October 2021, the investments from Liechtenstein amounted 415 thousand euros. In 2020, there was no inflow of investments from Liechtenstein.

In the period January-October 2021, Montenegro was visited by 7,205 tourists from Liechtenstein (and Switzerland), who spent 27,699 overnight stays. In 2020, Montenegro was visited by 841 tourists from Liechtenstein (and Switzerland) who spent 2,805 overnight stays.
