Visa regime
Citizens of Montenegro must have a visa to enter Malaysia. In the event that a visa is granted, it shall be issued for a period of 30 days from the date of first entry into the territory of Malaysia.
The visa application can be submitted electronically via the link: https://malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my/evisa/evisa.jsp or by applying directly at the Embassy of Malaysia in BiH.

Diplomatic Relations Overview
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Montenegro and Malaysia have maintained friendly relations.
Malaysia recognized the independence of Montenegro on July 25, 2006, and on August 17, 2006 diplomatic relations were established between the two countries.
On September 26, 2017, Zakri bin Jaafar, the non-resident Ambassador of Malaysia to Montenegro (based in Sarajevo) presented his credentials to the President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović.

No high-level and the highest level visits have taken place, so far.
Economic Cooperation / International Trade
In 2021, trade between the two countries amounted to 6.8 mil. euros.
According to the data of the Central Bank of Montenegro and MONSTAT, no investments were recorded and no tourists from Malaysia were registered in the previous 2 years.
