Georgia*

Holders of travel documents with a valid Schengen visa, a valid visa from the United States, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, or the Republic of Ireland, as well as residence permits from those countries, may enter and stay in, or transit through, the territory of Montenegro for up to 30 days, but no longer than the expiration of their visa if the validity period is shorter than 30 days.

Visa regime

Nationals of Georgia may enter, pass through the territory of and stay in Montenegro up to 90 days, with a valid travel document, without a visa.

Diplomatic relations

Montenegro and Georgia have good bilateral relations, with mutual readiness for their further improvement in all areas of common interest.

On 29 October 2007 Georgia recognized the independence of Montenegro, when the diplomatic relations between the two countries were established.

Diplomatic representation of Montenegro to Georgia takes place through the Embassy of Montenegro in Kyiv.

Official visits

7-8 October 2021 - the President of Montenegro Milo Đukanović paid an official visit to the Georgia, during which he met with President of Georgia Salome Zourabichvili and Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.

9 October 2019 - the President of the Parliament of Georgia Archil Talakvadze paid an official visit to Montenegro and met with the President of Montenegro Milo Đukanović, the President of the Parliament Ivan Brajović and the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Financial System Milutin Simović.

12-13 June 2018 - the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Srdjan Darmanović paid an official visit to Georgia, during which he met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Mikheil Janelidze.

4-5. December 2017 - the Parliament Speaker of Montenegro Ivan Brajović paid an official visit to Georgia and met with the President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili, Parliament Speaker Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, President of the Friendship Group with the Parliament of Montenegro, Beka Natsvlishvili, and the Patriarch of the whole of Georgia, II.

4 June 2015 - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Tamar Beruchashvili paid an official visit to Montenegro, during which she met with the highest Montenegrin officials.

Economic cooperation

In the period from January to September 2022, imports were recorded in the amount of 135 thousand euros, while exports were 276 thousand euros.

The direct investments from Georgia in 2022 were not recorded. Also, there is no record of the number of tourists from Georgia.
