Iraq*

Holders of travel documents with a valid Schengen visa, a valid visa from the United States, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, or the Republic of Ireland, as well as residence permits from those countries, may enter and stay in, or transit through, the territory of Montenegro for up to 30 days, but no longer than the expiration of their visa if the validity period is shorter than 30 days.

Nationals of Iraq are required to obtain a visa to enter Montenegro.Visas may be obtained from diplomatic and consular posts of Montenegro. If you are unable to reach a diplomatic or consular post of Montenegro, you may apply for a visa at the nearest diplomatic or consular post of the Republic of Serbia.

Diplomatic Relations

The Republic of Iraq officially recognized Montenegro on August 23, 2006, and diplomatic relations were established on December 29, 2010.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Montenegro, Fakhri Hassan Mahdi Al Issa (based in Belgrade), took office on July 1, 2019.

Economic Cooperation / International Trade

There are no records of trade in 2019 and in the first half of 2020.

In 2018, the total trade was realized in the amount of 3.964.000 € (of which imports amounted to 3.050.000 €  and exports to  914.000 €).

In previous years, foreign direct investment between Montenegro and the Republic of Iraq has not been recorded. There are no statistics on tourists coming from the Republic of Iraq.
