Diplomatic Relations
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea recognized an independent and sovereign Montenegro on June 21, 2006, and diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on July 16, 2007.
The Ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to Montenegro is Cha Kon Il, who took office on March 25, 2016, by presenting credentials to the President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović.

No high-level and the highest level visits have taken place, so far.
Economic Cooperation / International Trade
There was no foreign trade between Montenegro and the DPR of Korea in 2020. Also, during 2020, no direct investments from North Korea were recorded.
According to the data of "Monstat", in 2020, the presence of tourists from the DPR of Korea in Montenegro was not recorded.
