Holders of travel documents with a valid Schengen visa, a valid visa from the United States, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, or the Republic of Ireland, as well as residence permits from those countries, may enter and stay in, or transit through, the territory of Montenegro for up to 30 days, but no longer than the expiration of their visa if the validity period is shorter than 30 days.

Visa regime

Nationals of the Kingdom of Spain may enter, cross the territory and stay in Montenegro up to 90 days without visa, with valid travel document.  

Nationals of the Kingdom of Spain may enter, cross the territory and stay in Montenegro up to 30 days without visa, with valid Identity Card isued by relevant authority of the Hellenic Republic.

Diplomatic Relations

Kingdom of Spain recognized Montenegro's independence on 16th of June 2006,  while diplomatic relations were established on 12th of december 2006. 

Until the appointment of a new ambassador, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in Belgrade, which covers Montenegro on a non-resident basis, operates at the level of Chargé d'Affaires a.i. 

Since November 2022, the Spanish Diplomatic Office in Podgorica has been operating at the level of Chargé d'Affaires.
