DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS
The Republic of San Marino recognized Montenegro on June 26, 2006, while diplomatic relations were established on March 29, 2007.
The Embassy of Montenegro in Rome is in charge of the diplomatic representation of Montenegro in the Republic of San Marino. It currently operates at the level of charge d'affaires a.i.
Ambassador of San Marino to Montenegro, on a non-resident basis, stationed in San Marino, Sylvia Bolini, assumed the duty on July 1, 2019.
BILATERAL HIGH LEVEL MEETINGS
So far, there have been no official visits by Montenegrin officials to San Marino.
Captains Regents of San Marino Nikola Selva and Mikele Murator were in Montenegro on the occasion of the Games of Small States of Europe, 2019.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of San Marino, Nikola Renci, paid a visit to Montenegro on the occasion of the meeting of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative, 7-8 May 2019
Realized visit to Montenegro by the captains of the regents of the Republic of San Marino - Gian Nicola Berti and Massimo Andrea Ugolini, the first in the history of bilateral relations, 5-6 September 2016.
ECONOMIC COOPERATION
In 2018, the total trade commodity exchange with San Marino amounted to EUR 35,000 and related exclusively to imports. In 2017, the total trade commodity exchange with San Marino amounted EUR 9,618; in 2016 - 11,374 euros; in 2015 - EUR 101,595.
San Marino's direct investments in Montenegro in the period 2006-2018 amounted to EUR 908,790.
