Diplomatic Relations
The Republic of Philippines officially recognized Montenegro on the 26th of September 2009, and the diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on the same day.
The agrément has been approved to the newly designated Ambassador of the Republic of Philippines to Montenegro, Frank R. Cimafranca (whose residence is located in Budapest) - pending the presentation of his credentials to the President of Montenegro. Until his final appointment, Jose L. Garcia pefrorms the duty of Chargé d'affaires, a.i. The Honorary Consulate of Montenegro in Manilla was opened on the 12th of December 2018 (Honorary Consul in Philippines is Maria Vanessa S. Pastor-Ledesma).

No official high-level bilateral visits have, so far, been realized.

Overall exchange of goods and services in 2020 (January – November) amounted to €601,500 (related to imports only). Direct foreign investments from the Republic of Philippines haven't been recorded.
