Abazović and Al Khateeb reach agreement in New York: Saudi Arabia approves a $3 million grant for Montenegro

During a meeting between the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dritan Abazović, and the Minister of Tourism of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Al Khateeb, in New York, both parties discussed their mutual interest in further strengthening the cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Montenegro, as stated in a joint press release by the Office of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Tourism of Saudi Arabia.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation in various sectors, particularly in tourism, healthcare, education, and infrastructure.

Minister Ahmed Al Khateeb expressed Saudi Arabia's readiness and dedication to support development projects contributing to the present and future growth of Montenegro. In this regard, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has approved a grant of 3 million US dollars to support the education sector in Montenegro.

The Prime Minister highlighted Montenegro's appreciation for the support from the Kingdom, which will positively impact the further strengthening of bilateral relations. Montenegro views the ongoing dialogue with Saudi Arabia on development projects and the enhancement of cooperation in the tourism sector as signs of deepening friendly ties. Additionally, it was noted that the Government of Montenegro, in an official session, has adopted a decision endorsing Riyadh, Saudi Arabia's candidacy for hosting EXPO 2030.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to promoting joint activities for the benefit of citizens and discussed participation in the upcoming EXPO 2030, where Montenegro will have a pavilion showcasing its natural beauty, rich history, and unique cultural and historical heritage to the world.
