Abazović meets with Komšić and Džaferović: We want to build the European future of Montenegro and the region
Montenegro gives full support to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path of European and Euro-Atlantic integration. We want to build a better future in the European community of nations. That is the only way out of the Balkan 'black hole', said Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović after the meeting with the members of the Presidency of BiH, Šefik Džaferović and Željko Komšić.
Deputy Prime Minister Abazović emphasised that better infrastructural connections lead to greater mobility, and that it will lead to better connectivity in the region and breaking down prejudices among people. In that sense, DPM Abazović stressed the importance of the reconstruction of the road Šćepan polje - Foča, as well as the construction of a new bridge on that road.
Deputy Prime Minister Abazović emphasised that there is a potential danger that the construction of the HPP Buk Bijela could have far-reaching consequences for the environment of Montenegro, but also endanger the Durmitor National Park, as a UNESCO heritage site.
BiH Presidency Member Šefik Džaferović pointed out that Montenegro and BiH have intensified cooperation, emphasising that it is very important for BiH to show stability in the region and Montenegro. Džaferović expressed gratitude for DPM Abazović's participation in the commemoration in Potočari and for the vote on the Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica in the Parliament of Montenegro, stating that it was an act of civilization. He pointed out that the HPP Buk Bijela project is disputable for him and that a dispute is being conducted before the Constitutional Court.
BiH Presidency Member Željko Komšić noted that BiH and Montenegro have excellent relations. He expressed satisfaction that Montenegro is following the European and Euro-Athlantic path and that it is a recipe for the entire region, hoping that BiH will also make a progress on that path.
Furthermore, Abazović, Komšić and Džaferović discussed intensifying cooperation in the field of tourism and energy.
