Abazović: Seized cigarettes are worth tens of millions of euros
Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, Minister of Finance Aleksandar Damjanović, Minister of the Interior Filip Adžić, Minister without Portfolio Zoran Miljanić, Director of the Revenue and Customs Administration Rade Milošević, and Acting Assistant Director of the Police Directorate for the Fight against Crime Dejan Knežević visited yesterday Free Zone Port of Bar after the Revenue and Customs Administration ordered the Bar Customs to seize about 145,000 packages of tobacco products worth tens of millions of euros, without extending the deadline for storing tobacco products in the Free Zone.
Yesterday, members of the Government of Montenegro, led by Prime Minister Abazović, and media representatives, visited the warehouse where the seized cigarettes are stored.
The Government's plan is to create a legal framework after the seizure and the possibility to export cigarettes from the country, sell them, and pump money into the budget, said Prime Minister Abazović.
