Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of European Affairs Jovana Marović met with Ambassador of Bulgaria Meglena Plugtschieva. Bulgaria is an important partner of Montenegro on its European path, and we hope that this support will be even stronger now that Montenegro must accelerate its integration path, said DPM Marović.

Marović expressed gratitude for Bulgaria's continued support for Montenegro's negotiation process and said that the Government has a clear vision and that the reformed negotiating structure will pave the way for effective fulfillment of remaining obligations in order to revive the process and achieve tangible results.

It is necessary to preserve and improve the professional staff that will cope with the extensive and demanding obligations from the negotiation process, which are worth every effort, having in mind the experience of Bulgaria, said Ambassador Plugtschieva.

Furthermore, she said that the use of EU funds is extremely important for Montenegro's development path, and expressed Bulgaria's readiness to share its expertise when it comes to improving knowledge in the area of withdrawal of EU funds, as well as in all areas where its support is deemed necessary.
