Constituent session of the Coordination Body for inventory of confiscated goods in the Free Zone Port of Bar

The constituent session of the Coordination Body for the inventory of confiscated goods in the Free Zone Port of Bar was held today, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for Political System, Judiciary, and Anti-Corruption Momo Koprivica. During the session, the Rules of Procedure were adopted, and the working methodology of the Coordination Body was defined.

Additionally, the members of the Coordination Body unanimously reaffirmed a strong commitment to tackling all issues relevant to combating smuggling, trafficking, and associated corrupt activities. It was agreed that relevant authorities, in collaboration, would develop a precise and comprehensive plan for implementing the identified obligations related to the inventory and counting of confiscated goods.

During the first session of the Coordination Body for the inventory of confiscated goods in the Free Zone Port of Bar, it was noted that the process of inventorying and destroying confiscated goods in the Free Zone must be open to all and maximally transparent by involving all interested stakeholders, international partners, and the non-governmental sector, as well as recording all phases of inventorying, counting, and destruction of confiscated goods.

The Government of Montenegro is strongly committed to completely eliminating smuggling, trafficking, and all associated criminal and corrupt activities, along with abuses of power that harm the citizens of Montenegro. This commitment is evidenced by concrete actions and measures, as well as international support.
