The Government of Montenegro and the Municipality of Cetinje are poised to launch the construction project of a cable car from Lovćen to Cetinje at the earliest opportunity, as emphasised during a meeting between Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and Mayor Nikola Đurašković.

The Prime Minister underscored that this is an excellent project that will receive full support from the Government of Montenegro, with funds for construction being allocated from the Capital Budget.

It was noted that three necessary studies are underway to enable the project's candidacy for financing, with conditions potentially being met by June to allocate funds for the cable car from the budget.

During the meeting, it was emphasised that this is the most significant investment for Cetinje at the moment, with a realistic expectation that construction could be completed by the celebration of the 20th anniversary of independence restoration.

Discussions also touched upon other major infrastructure projects, such as the construction of a new sports hall and the reconstruction of the water supply network, addressing issues that have troubled the citizens of Cetinje for decades.

Furthermore, discussions highlighted the interest of foreign investors and the potential for properly valorizing the Gornji Obod area.
