Coordination Body for harmonization and monitoring of inspection oversight establishes working group for summer tourist season preparation

The second session of the Coordination Body for harmonization and monitoring of inspection oversight was held today, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development and President of the Coordination Body Milun Zogović. The session covered the following agenda items:

  • Proposal of the Rules of Procedure for the Coordination Body harmonization and monitoring of inspection oversight;
  • Review of annual reports for the year 2024;
  • Information on annual work plans for 2025;
  • Review of monthly reports for January 2025;
  • Proposal of the Decision on the establishment of a working group for the preparation of the summer tourist season;
  • Information on access to the Unified Inspection Information System (JIIS).

The members of the Coordination Body unanimously adopted the Rules of Procedure, as well as the 2024 annual reports submitted by the following inspection bodies: Environmental Inspection, Educational Inspection, Labour Inspection, Occupational Safety Inspection, Tourism Inspection, Market Inspection, Housing Inspection, Geodetic Inspection, Metrological Inspection, Geological and Mining Inspection, Hydrocarbon Inspection, Budget Inspection, Gambling Inspection, Public Procurement Inspection, Social and Child Protection Inspection, Sports Inspection, Health and Sanitary Inspection, Maritime Safety Inspection, Postal Services Inspection, Cultural Heritage Inspection, Archival Services Inspection, Information Society Services Inspection, Road Transport Inspection, Forestry and Hunting Inspection, Phytosanitary Inspection, Water Inspection, Food Inspection, Fisheries Inspection, Veterinary Inspection, and Agricultural Inspection.

The Coordination Body reviewed and acknowledged the adoption and publication of work plans by the relevant inspection bodies for the year 2025.

Furthermore, the Coordination Body approved a standardized template for submitting monthly reports and mandated that all inspection services submit their reports by the 10th of each month. This will ensure timely insight into inspection activities and results.

To enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of inspections during the upcoming summer tourist season, the Coordination Body has adopted a Decision to establish a working group dedicated to its preparation. The primary objective of this working group is to create the necessary conditions for conducting inspection oversight at full capacity throughout the summer season.

During the session, discussions also covered the implementation of the Unified Inspection Information System, addressing any potential issues and solutions to optimize the efficiency and functionality of relevant inspections. Representatives from the Ministry of Public Administration attended this segment of the meeting.

President of the Coordination Body, Milun Zogović, emphasized that the Coordination Body, established on 25 December 2024, will actively monitor and evaluate the operations of all inspection services. This will be achieved through the review of inspection agencies’ reports and oversight activities.

To this end, we are introducing the requirement for monthly reporting, which will provide continuous insight into the work of inspection services. Based on credible information, we will be able to issue timely recommendations and opinions at the Coordination Body level regarding the organization and planning of inspection oversight.
